Volunteers are the lifeblood of our foundation and the foodbank. Your time and/or skills just might be what we need.
Corona-virus update and our volunteers
During the current pandemic, we are trying our best to still serve our community while protecting our Volunteers from infection too. so if we don’t come closer than you wish, we are trying to maintain Social distance. No hugging or touching is allowed. In conjunction with the Christian Gold House Ministry, we continue to support those who are struggling.
Our response to the pandemic and lockdowns has meant that we have had to make changes to the way we do things.
When someone arrives to pick up food we request that you have a face mask on and preferably hand gloves. (Normally one of our volunteers would spend time with each foodbank user sharing a cup of tea, offering what other help we can give and signposting.)
The current way of doing things minimizes contact with clients, but also means that we need far fewer volunteers than we usually would. That said, we could do with more help than we already have in place.
The present situation is volatile and day to day we do not know what the future may bring. If you are interested in volunteering please e-mail us at support@ghhopeforall.com and we will respond if and when the situation changes and we are in need of your help.
Thank you so very much for considering helping at our foundation and foodbank. We really value our volunteer helpers and appreciate all that you do.
